How WE Hub is empowering women to become business ready?

Hyderabad: In recent years, more and more women from minority communities are venturing into entrepreneurship. As they navigate the complexities of the business world, they require guidance and support. This is where the Telangana government’s WE Hub plays a crucial role.
To help promote entrepreneurship among minority women, WE Hub, in collaboration with SAFA India, launched Project Ujaagar in 2023. Through this project, WE Hub is making the women business ready.
Under this 45 days intervention programme, these women business leaders are trained on the basics of running their business and also help them understand statutory compliances, customer service, packaging, branding, marketing, financing and launching their business.
This month 56 women from minority communities received their business formalisation certificates at WeHub. After the successful completion of training, these women were empowered with financial literacy and business skills. Among the participants, 134 women received Udyam Certificates and 2 secured loans of Rs. 5.1 lakh to grow their businesses.
These women graduates now have financial literacy and now they know how to run a business and do Udyam /MSME registrations. They can also avail the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) Scheme to set up micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector for rural as well as urban areas.
Minority women from various parts of the city like Charminar, Rajendranagar, Bandlaguda, Dabeerpura and Jalpally have turned entrepreneurs. Their business ventures range from service domain to textile to trading sectors.
