Water Crisis Awareness Walk in Sahara Estate gated community

LB NAGAR: Sahara Estate Welfare Association and Igniting Minds – Walk for Water organisation together organised a ‘Water Crisis Awareness Walk’ in the Sahara Estate gated community colony in LB Nagar regarding water usage on Sunday.
Approximately 75 residents and staff members participated in the walk led by Srikanth, president of Sahara Estate Welfare Association and Karunakar Reddy, Founder of Igniting Minds – Walk for Water. The event aimed to educate the community on conserving water resources and avoiding wasteful practices. Discussions during the walk emphasised the critical need to use water effectively, given the challenges of sourcing water from over 180 kilometers away.
Srikanth stressed the importance of respecting water resources. He warned about potential water shortages in the near future. All attended people collectively took a water pledge, committing to consuming water wisely and preventing unnecessary wastage.
They also pledged to spread awareness among their families, friends, and Neighbours. And encouraging them to adopt responsible water usage habits.

Following this, he explained the importance of collective action for a sustainable future. Karunakar Reddy praised the participation in raising awareness about water conservation. Highlighting the role of every individual in safeguarding water resources. The event concluded with a call to action for continued efforts in water conservation and an invitation for other communities to join the movement.
