No stock board at petrol pump in Hyderabad amid fuel shortage

WARANGAL: A diesel shortage has been reported across the undivided Warangal district, with several fuel stations displaying “no stock” boards and suspending sales.

Queues of consumers were seen at the few petrol pumps that remained operational, as demand for diesel rose sharply. The increase coincides with the ongoing harvesting season, during which agricultural machinery depends heavily on diesel.

Fuel station operators said supply disruptions led to the closure of multiple outlets. Tankers are yet to replenish stocks at several locations, adding to the pressure on existing inventory.

Meanwhile, petrol demand also increased suddenly from Sunday night, leading to higher footfall at fuel stations. Operators said the surge in petrol consumption further strained logistics and supply chains.

Consumers expressed concern over the availability of petrol and diesel, fearing prolonged shortages could affect daily travel and agricultural activities. Some said they were forced to wait for long hours to refuel.

Officials have yet to issue a statement on the timeline for normalising supply, even as demand remains high across the district.
