Wanaparthy agriculture officer caught taking ₹10,000 bribe

WANAPARTHY: Officials of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau caught Puppala Anjaneyulu Goud, district agriculture officer of Wanaparthy, while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 on Saturday.
Demand for fertiliser supply
According to ACB officials, the officer had allegedly demanded ₹20,000 from a farmer to ensure uninterrupted supply of fertiliser, specifically urea. He had already collected ₹3,000 earlier and was caught while taking the remaining amount.
ACB appeal to public
ACB officials said the complainant approached them after repeated demands. The accused was caught red-handed during a trap operation. Further investigation is under way.
The ACB urged citizens to report any demand for bribes by public servants by calling the toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be made through WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) or the official website. The identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
