Walsh Karra Holdings, a US-based investment firm to invest over Rs 830 crores in Telangana

Hyderabad: In a big boost to women entrepreneurship, Walsh Karra Holdings, a US-based investment firm and Telangana WE Hub signed an MoU guaranteeing an investment of over Rs 40 crores in WE Hub over the next five years and over Rs 830 crores in the startup ecosystem of the state.
Phani Karra and Greg Walsh of Walsh Karra Holdings, a US-based investment firm, and Sita Pallacholla, Chief Executive Officer of WE Hub, India’s first state-led nodal organisation for women’s entrepreneurship, signed an MoU on Monday.
The MoU was signed in New York, in the presence of Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, Minister of IT D. Sridhar Babu, during their official visit to the US to explore new partnerships and investments for the state.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy congratulated the entire team for this success. “Women entrepreneurship will liberate our society and unleash the truest potential of Telangana. No society can achieve its fullest potential without enabling and empowering women,” said the Chief Minister.
Greg Walsh said, “With this initiative, over the next five years, WKH will also invest over Rs 800 crores in start-ups incubating in the Telangana ecosystem, both WE Hub incubated start-ups and beyond, thus being a reliable partner in the growth story of both urban and rural Telangana”.

This investment by WKH will provide the much needed timely impetus, catalysisng the growth of WE Hub alongside the growth of Women Entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, Sita Pallacholla said, “I thank Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Minister Sridhar Babu garu and all officials, for their guidance. This investment will be used to design and deliver a flagship programme of international standards to women entrepreneurs of India.”
