Mandal surveyor caught accepting ₹10,000 bribe in Jogulamba Gadwal

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught a mandal surveyor of Waddepally mandal in Jogulamba Gadwal district allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant.
According to the ACB, Kammari Brahmaiah, Mandal Surveyor, Waddepally mandal, demanded ₹15,000 as a reward for conducting a survey of land belonging to the complainant’s parents. The complainant approached the ACB after the alleged demand.
The bureau said Brahmaiah had earlier demanded and accepted ₹5,000 as an advance on May 6, 2026. During the trap conducted on May 26, 2026, he allegedly accepted the remaining part payment of ₹10,000.
ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount of ₹10,000 from the possession of the accused officer. The bureau alleged that the official performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.
The accused is being arrested and produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand. Further investigation is under way. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
The ACB appealed to the public to report demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged through the bureau’s WhatsApp number 9440446106 and its official social media platforms.
