Vrushakarma pre-release business soars as Zee buys rights for Rs 48 crore

HYDERABAD: Before its theatrical release, Naga Chaitanya’s new film Vrushakarma has already made headlines. Zee Entertainment bought the film’s non-theatrical rights for over Rs. 48 crore.
The deal covers both satellite and digital streaming rights. In fact, it is one of the biggest non-theatrical acquisitions for a Telugu film in recent years and highlights the strong interest in this mystical action-adventure. Meanwhile, Karthik Varma Dandu directs Vrushakarma. Naga Chaitanya plays the lead, with Meenakshi Chaudhary starring opposite him. The film blends mythology, mystery, and action on a grand scale.
Additionally, Zee’s non-theatrical deal adds to the film’s strong pre-release business. Industry sources say the agreement was finalized at over Rs. 48 crore, making Vrushakarma one of the most lucrative Telugu films in terms of non-theatrical rights. This acquisition also strengthens Naga Chaitanya’s reputation in the digital and non-theatrical market. After his last film Thandel secured a strong digital deal, Vrushakarma continues his trend of earning high satellite and streaming valuations.
As for the story, the filmmakers have not revealed the plot. Still, the first look, released earlier this year, generated excitement among fans and the film industry. The visuals and the mix of mythology and mystery have made Vrushakarma one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year.
Production is on schedule. Looking ahead, the team plans to release the film in theaters during Dussehra 2026. The festive season is expected to give Vrushakarma a strong box office start.
