Voters complain of EVMs not working in Habsiguda, Attapur and Kukatpally
Hyderabad:Despite elaborate arrangements and months of planning by the Election Commission of India for the polling day, voters from certain areas in Hyderabad have reported that the Electronic Voting Machines have failed to work on the D-day. Incidents of failure of EVMS have been reported in certain polling booths of Habsiguda, Attapur, Kukatpally in Hyderabad among others. Voters are taking it to social media and are questioning the ECI for its inefficiency.
According to the sources, voters from Habsiguda are turning back to homes without exercising their power of voting. They had to encounter the Electronic Voting Machines that were not working on Monday.
According to the sources, the EVMs were not functioning in the polling booth at Sri Sai Public School in Habsiguda. Voters have reportedly waited for more than an hour and as the EVMs failed to work properly, they had to come back home without voting.
Unable to Vote due to improper EVMs
Explaining his ordeal, a citizen, Niranjan Reddy said that his voting was there at booth number 240, he said, “We have come here and it’s been more than an hour, but we were told that EVMs were not working by the time we went. They said that it might take one more hour, so we are going back.”
Similar incidents of EVMs not working were also reported in Attapur, a netizen stated that “booth no ac 051 Attapur hyderabad. Evm is not working from 1 hour.” Another user said, “part no 380, 46 Kukatpally status: Not a single vote done until now as EVM not functioning. No official is even working on the issue.”
