Voter ID cards found dumped on Jalpally road
HYDERABAD: A bag containing around 500 voter ID cards was found on a road in Jalpally on Monday, even as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is under way across the state.
Photos, videos of voter ID cards go viral
The bag was found near a park on the road from Jalpally Gate to Jalpally. Locals opened the postal bag and found voter ID cards inside. They took photos and videos and posted them on social media, where they went viral.
Pahadi Shareef police reached the spot and took possession of the bag.
Police identify cards as belonging to Chandrayangutta
Police found that the bag was linked to the Kanchanbagh post office and identified the voter ID cards as belonging to the Chandrayangutta division.
Pahadi Shareef Inspector B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy said police were conducting an inquiry from all angles.
The bag is suspected to have fallen on the road before locals found the voter ID cards.
