Hyderabad: A case has been registered at the Ghatkesar Police Station against YouTuber, after his viral video titled ‘Money Hunting Challenge’ caused a public disturbance on Outer Ring Road (ORR).

The accused has been identified as Bhanuchander, alias Anchor Chandu (30), a resident of Balanagar in Hyderabad, who filmed the viral video on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near exit number 9 in Ghatkesar. In the viral video, Bhanuchander threw bundles of 200-rupee notes along the roadside and challenged viewers to find and retrieve the money.

Following the video’s viral spread, several netizens visited the ORR exit and stopped their vehicles in an attempt to locate the hidden cash. The situation escalated when ORR patrolling personnel arrived at the scene and questioned the individuals, leading to the discovery of the disturbance.

A police complaint was filed against Bhanuchander for filming the video on the ORR, a public road, which posed a serious risk of accidents. Authorities have increased security at exit number 9 and are taking steps to prevent vehicles from stopping in the area.

Bhanuchander has been taken into custody for questioning. A case has been registered under Cr. No: 659/2024, Section 125, 292 BNS, and Section 8(b) of the National Highway Act. The investigation is ongoing, according to the Station House Officer of Ghatkesar Police Station.

This incident follows a similar case involving influencer Harsha, who faced multiple legal charges for videos depicting reckless behaviour, including throwing money onto roads, rash driving, and causing public nuisance in the Kukatpally and KPHB areas. The Kukatpally police have filed charges against Harsha for reckless driving, causing a public nuisance, and wrongful restraint. The traffic police also lodged a complaint with the Sanatnagar police station, leading to additional charges against him.

In response to the legal action, Harsha has appealed to the media to focus on his charitable efforts rather than his controversial money-related stunts. With 377,000 Instagram followers, Harsha frequently posted videos of throwing money onto roads, leading to traffic disruptions and safety hazards.
