Hyderabad: Man booked for threatening Vijayashanthi’s husband in payment dispute

Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police on Saturday registered a case against a man for allegedly issuing threats against MV Srinivasa Prasad, the husband of Congress MLC Vijayashanthi. The police said an investigation is underway.

According to the complaint, a person named Chandrasekhar Reddy issued the threats. Vijayashanthi told the police that he warned her husband saying, “I will show you what hell is like.” She also mentioned that Reddy had previously managed her social media account.

As per the reports, Reddy allegedly convinced the couple that he could significantly boost her social media presence and offered to handle promotions and content creation without pay. The couple handed him the responsibility of managing Vijayashanthi’s social media platforms.

He maintained Vijayashanthi’s social media platforms, especially when she was a BJP leader. However, after noticing his services were not yielding expected results, the couple stopped working with him. When Vijayashanthi joined the Congress party, Reddy began demanding pending dues and sent several messages. The couple questioned the payment demand saying earlier he offered to work for free.

Recently, he reportedly sent text messages to the couple using threatening language. “If you don’t pay me my dues, I’ll show you what hell really is,” he warned in one of the messages.

Vijayashanthi’s husband Srinivas Prasad said that the accused had issued a threat stating that there would be consequences if the money was not paid. He added that the threats appeared politically motivated and expressed concern for their safety.

Meanwhile, Vijayashanthi, popularly known as the “Lady Superstar,” is currently working on her upcoming film Arjun – Son of Vyjayanthi. She will be seen donning a police uniform in the movie.The Telugu film, featuring Kalyan Ram in the lead role, is scheduled for worldwide release on April 18.
