Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna Launch Education Initiative for Telangana Students
HYDERABAD: Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have launched an education initiative through the Deverakonda Foundation to support Class 9 and 10 students in Telangana’s Achampet Mandal.
The programme aims to help students studying in 44 government schools in Thummanpet and nearby villages. It will cover educational expenses and provide notebooks and other study materials.
Vijay Deverakonda announced the initiative on social media. He said the programme holds special significance because his father was born in Achampet Mandal.
“We are on our way to Thummanpet, the little village where my father was born. In February, Rashmika and I announced the beginning of a small dream. We wanted to reward hardworking students of Classes 9 and 10 from Achampet Mandal in Telangana,” he wrote on X.
Support for students and families
The initiative will reduce the financial burden on parents. In addition, it will ensure that students receive essential learning materials on time.
The programme also aims to prevent school dropouts caused by financial difficulties. As a result, more students may continue their education without interruption.
Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna reshared Vijay Deverakonda’s post and voiced her support for the initiative.
Third film collaboration on the horizon
On the professional front, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna will soon share screen space in the period drama “Ranabaali.”
The film marks their third collaboration after “Geetha Govindam” and “Dear Comrade.”
According to industry sources, “Ranabaali” draws inspiration from incidents that took place in the 1850s. The story focuses on events that mainstream historical accounts largely overlooked.
Furthermore, the film is expected to examine episodes that, according to its makers, the British colonial administration misrepresented during that period.
