Vigyan Vaibhav-2025 expo at Gachibowli Stadium: Open to public on March 1-2

Hyderabad: To mark National Science Day, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), and the Kalam Institute of Youth Excellence jointly organized a defense exhibition titled “Vigyan Vaibhav-2025.” The event, aimed at showcasing India’s advancements in defense and aerospace technology, is being held at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, from February 28, 2025.
The exhibition, which will run for three days, was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on February 28. The event features nearly 200 stalls and has already attracted over 30,000 pre-registered attendees, including school and engineering students. The first day is reserved for registered students, while the general public can visit the exhibition on March 1 and 2.
Speaking at the inauguration, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the importance of scientific temper and critical thinking. He urged the youth to explore emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, and Clean-tech. “India can remain strong and secure if it has solutions to critical technological challenges. Our youth must go beyond the ordinary and adopt a scientific outlook,” he said, recalling the words of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who had said, “Science is a beautiful gift to humanity; we should not distort it but use it for the betterment of society.”
Rajnath Singh also highlighted the government’s commitment to harnessing modern technology for national security, stressing that education in these fields is crucial for India’s future. He added that India’s youth possess tremendous potential, and the government’s efforts aim to harness this potential to achieve the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also spoke at the event, noting that Hyderabad has long been a hub for scientific excellence and technological innovation. He encouraged students to embrace innovation and aim high. “Hyderabad has been playing a pivotal role in the country’s defense sector for decades, with establishments like BDL, DRDO, MIDANI, and HAL manufacturing rockets and missiles,” Revanth Reddy said.
As part of the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also addressed the importance of cultivating engineers for the defense sector, noting that while many students from Telangana pursue IT careers abroad, there is a growing need for talent in defense manufacturing. He highlighted the importance of developing engineers for the defense sector and suggested that Hyderabad and Bangalore should be designated as a “Defense Industrial Corridor” to encourage investment and development in defense-related startups.
