Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad seizes 19 heavy vehicles for violating road rules

Secunderabad: In a crackdown against heavy vehicles plying on roads without following rules, Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad Rural Unit conducted a surprise checking and cracked a whip on 19 heavy vehicles and seized them.
According to the officials of Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad Rural Unit, on the intervening night of Saturday, Vigilance unit along with the officials of Mines and Road Transport Authority (RTA) Departments have conducted surprise route check at Dundigal cross Road, Medchal Junction,
During the checking officials intercepted the vehicles plying on roads and found violating several rules. Subsequently officials booked cases under Motor Vehicles Act against 19 lorries carrying Robo sand, Bricks, 20 MM Chips and seized 12 of them and kept them under safe custody.
Imposes Rs 4.85 lakh fine
Ginging out the details of 19 cases are – 10 cases were booked for overweight, Three cases were booked for plying on roads without permit, three cases were booked for plying without fitness, two cases booked for driving without driving license and One case booked for without tax and imposed fine amount of Rs. 3,82,509.
In addition to these cases, officials imposed royalty cases under Mines and Mineral Development Regulation Act, 1957 were booked against 8 Lorries carrying stone metal & bricks and imposed a fine amount of Rs. 1,03,461.
Overall Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad Rural Unit along with the officials of Mines and Road Transport Authority (RTA) Departments imposed a fine of Rs. 4,85,970 on all the 19 heavy vehicles.
