VerSe Innovation appoints P.R. Ramesh as independent director, audit committee chair

Hyderabad: VerSe Innovation on Tuesday announced the appointment of P. R. Ramesh as an independent director on its board. He will also chair the audit committee.

The company said the move is aimed at reinforcing its governance structure as it enters its next phase of institutional and strategic growth.

Ramesh, a chartered accountant with over 40 years of experience, has held leadership roles in financial oversight, corporate governance and regulatory advisory. He is a former chairman of Deloitte India and a former member of the Deloitte Global Board.

Four decades of experience across governance and advisory roles

During his career, Ramesh has advised Indian and multinational companies on governance, risk management, financial reporting and regulatory compliance. He has served on the boards of firms including Air India, Cipla, Nestlé India, Larsen & Toubro, Crompton Greaves, ITC Hotels, Cyient, Tejas Networks and Housing Development Finance Corporation.

He was awarded “Best Independent Director” by the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability for 2022–23. He has also served on advisory bodies linked to Securities and Exchange Board of India, Reserve Bank of India and Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

Focus on governance, controls and risk management

At VerSe, he will oversee financial reporting integrity, internal controls, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance.

Platform expands AI-driven content ecosystem in India

VerSe Innovation operates platforms such as Dailyhunt, Josh, Magzter and NexVerse.ai. The company said its AI-driven technology delivers personalised content to hundreds of millions of users in local languages.

The firm counts global investors including Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority, Goldman Sachs, Google and Microsoft.
