Venu Udugula denies links to Mangli case
HYDERABAD: Venu Udugula on Saturday said media reports linking him to the Mangli case were incorrect and caused him distress. He stated he had no connection to the incident.
He said both Mangli and the complainant advocate Subbarao were known to him. “I only suggested that the issue be resolved peacefully and that justice be done to the affected persons. Beyond that, I had no role,” he said.
FIR, lawyer statements cited in clarification
Udugula said the First Information Report does not mention his name as an accused. He added that advocate Subbarao also clarified before the media on April 11, 2026, that Udugula had no involvement in the case.
He said a video of Subbarao’s statement was available. He expressed concern that some reports linked his name to the case without verifying facts.
Police inquiry rules out involvement
Udugula said Punjagutta Police, during their inquiry, confirmed that he had no connection with the incident. He said such reports affect a person’s reputation and family.
He urged media organisations to verify facts before publishing. “A person’s reputation and family are impacted by such reports. I request media friends to take note,” he said.
Udugula thanked people for their continued support and said he was making the clarification with the same trust.
