Hyderabad scientist Dr Venkatesh Devanur elected WNO president

HYDERABAD: Dr Venkatesh Devanur, a Hyderabad-based agri-biotech entrepreneur and scientist, has been elected president of the World Neem Organisation (WNO).
His election took place during the 3rd International Neem Summit–2026 and the 4th Global Neem Trade Fair held in Pune.
Leadership role at global neem body recognised
Dr Devanur has been associated with WNO for several years and earlier served as its vice president. His elevation marks a continuation of his role in promoting neem-based solutions globally.
Pioneer in bio-pesticide and organic farming sector
He is regarded as a pioneer in India’s bio-pesticide and organic agriculture sector. His work has focused on advancing sustainable agricultural practices through neem-based products.
Dr Devanur is also a founding member of the BioAgri Inputs Producers Association, which represents stakeholders in the biological agriculture inputs sector.
