27 voters listed at one house in Vengal Rao Nagar
HYDERABAD: A single house in Vengal Rao Nagar’s polling booth shows 27 names on the voter list, residents told reporters.
The house falls under division 125, booth number 125. The property owner said only one registered voter currently lives at the address. “I live alone; I do not know who the others are,” he said. He added that his wife died some time ago, leaving him the only occupant.
A neighbour, a cable operator who says he has lived locally for about 30 years, told reporters that none of the people listed live at the address. “None of the names on the voter list are local residents,” he said.
Local residents said they will inform election authorities if the matter is not corrected. Officials at the local returning office were not immediately available for comment.
