HYDERABAD: Marmadesam, a 1990s cult Telugu television series, became famous for its mix of folklore, suspense, and supernatural elements. Now, ZEE5 is expanding this world with a new Telugu original series, Veerabhadruni Rahasyam, which will premiere on June 26, 2026.

In this setting, the story takes place in the isolated village of Veerabhadrapuram. Here, faith demands obedience and fear shapes daily life. For generations, the villagers have lived under the strict rule of Veerabhadra Swamy, a deity believed to punish wrongdoers swiftly and harshly.
Whenever the sacred temple bell rings, villagers find a new body nearby. They never question these deaths and accept them as divine punishment. Tradition forces silence and strict obedience to rituals, including disposing of bodies on the cursed hill called Gaddhala Gutta. The village guards its secrets, and its very foundation rests on them.
Annie plays Vennela, a rational and fearless young woman from the city. She enters this closed, superstitious world and stands in sharp contrast to the villagers, who have accepted their fate for years. When someone murders a young villager and the village blames divine intervention, Vennela refuses to accept blind faith as an answer.
