Vaishali Nagar underpass traffic diversions extended till September 16
HYDERABAD: Traffic diversions around the Vaishali Nagar Railway Underpass will continue for another 14 days from September 3 to September 16 as road-widening and storm water drain works remain incomplete.
Cyberabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) issued the extension in an advisory dated September 2026. The underpass is prone to waterlogging during heavy rainfall, prompting the civic authorities to take up road widening and drainage works.
Delayed works prompt 14-day extension of traffic advisory
An earlier advisory was issued for 20 days and later extended by 29 days from July 16 to facilitate the works. The police said delays in the progress of the works made a further extension necessary.
The diversions will affect roads and junctions connecting My Home Mangala, Hafeezpet, Raghavendra Nagar Colony, Kondapur and surrounding areas. Raghavendra Nagar Colony is also listed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation under Kondapur.
Five diversion routes announced for commuters
Traffic from My Home Mangala Apartments towards Hafeezpet via the underpass will be diverted at My Home Mangala T-Junction. Vehicles will take a U-turn, proceed through Raghavendra Nagar Colony and Hi-Tension Road, and then reach Hafeezpet via the RTA office at Kondapur and Hafeezpet Road Over Bridge.
Vehicles travelling from Telangana Contractors Cultural Club towards the underpass will also be diverted at My Home Mangala T-Junction. They will proceed via Raghavendra Nagar Colony, Hi-Tension Road, RTA office, Hafeezpet ROB/flyover and towards Hafeezpet and Allwyn Junction.
Traffic from Hafeezpet, RTC Colony and My Home Jewel towards My Home Mangala will be diverted via Pipeline Road, Hafeezpet ROB/flyover, the road near Genpact and Kondapur-Allwyn Junction. Vehicles will then take the Government School U-turn and proceed towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
Vehicles from Vasavi Lake City and Hafeezpet Lake towards My Home Mangala and Raghavendra Nagar Colony will be diverted at the Spire One Apartments U-turn. They will proceed via Hafeezpet ROB/flyover, Genpact, Kondapur-Allwyn Junction and the Government School U-turn.
Traffic from Gopal Nagar and Calvary Temple towards My Home Mangala will take a right at Hafeezpet RUB/underpass and proceed towards Kondapur-Allwyn Junction and the Hafeezpet ROB/flyover before travelling towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police have asked commuters to use alternative routes and plan their journeys accordingly. They also urged road users to cooperate with traffic personnel during the diversion period.
