US Consulate General Hyderabad postpones all visa appointments on Tuesday

Hyderabad: The U.S. Consulate General in an official communication issued through its social media accounts announced that the it would remain closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. The decision was taken following President Biden’s executive order declaring it a federal holiday for government agencies.

With this announcement, there has been a reorganisation of all the visa appointments scheduled on that day for various applicants. It was said that the F-1 student visa applicants, prioritized to ensure timely travel for spring semester studies, will have their appointments rescheduled for December 26 and December 31.

All other visa categories originally scheduled for December 24 have been moved to January 15, 2025. American Citizen Services appointments have been redistributed between December 23 and December 26.

Applicants should check their email

The Consulate further advised all applicants to check their email for specific details regarding their rescheduled appointments.

It further added that “Mission India has worked incredibly hard this year, issuing over 1.1 million non-immigrant visas in 2024. Thank you for your patience as our staff enjoy a much-needed break so that we can start the new year with renewed energy and enthusiasm for meeting the very high demand across many visa categories in India.”
