Upperpally Junction Safety Hazard

Hyderabad: A pole at the bustling junction of Upperpally is dangerously tilting, posing a significant threat to pedestrians and commuters in the area. Immediate action from the concerned authorities is crucial to avert potential accidents and save lives.

While talking to the Hyderabad Mail, a TG Citizen, who is an admin and a responsible citizen (and who prefers not to reveal his name), stated β€œThere’s a utility pole located in a busy junction area of Upperpally that poses a safety hazard to pedestrians and commuters passing through the area. I have reported it.”

The citizen said that he thought officials would act promptly, but it seems they have not acted until now. He hopes that it won’t harm anyone; otherwise, someone will definitely die or get injured.

“I have reported this issue on β€˜X’ several times, but every single time, the authorities just respond that they will rectify it, yet no action is taken. I am sincerely requesting the concerned authorities to resolve this issue as soon as possible before something serious happens. Recently, a tree fell down, and a man died, so I don’t want this to happen again,” said TG Citizen.

On June 9 (Sunday), TG Citizen took to ‘X’ and posted a plea for help to @swachhhyd regarding a tilting pole at the #upperpally junction near More. The post expressed concern that the pole might fall on someone and requested authorities to address the issue. The plea was also tagged with usernames @tgspdcl, @GHMCOnline, @Director_EVDM, @ZC_Charminar, and @DRonaldRose.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) responded to his complaint on β€˜X’ and said, β€œDear citizen, your concern is noted and has been informed to the EESL Zonal in-charge @EESL_India @EESL_CZstlight overseeing the maintenance of streetlights. We will update the status soon.”

While prioritizing the safety of citizens and residents of Upperpally, TG Citizen once again took to β€˜X’ on June 10 and posted the following message: “I knew things under @ZC_Charminar will remain unattended! Sir @Director_EVDM, @DRFEVDM, your team’s support is urgently needed here as the situation may become hazardous at any moment. Even though it’s not my usual route, I personally visited to check whether it has been attended to. Unfortunately, @EESL_India and @EESL_CZstlight, @GHMCOnline, @DRonaldRose.”
