Traffic diversions in Uppal on December 13 for Messi tour event
HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda Police on Thursday issued a traffic advisory for the Messi Tour live event at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, scheduled on December 13, 2025.
Heavy vehicles barred from Uppal routes for 12 hours
Moderate congestion is expected around the stadium and adjoining corridors. Police said heavy vehicles, including lorries, dumpers, earth movers, water tankers and ready-mix concrete trucks, will face diversions.
Traffic restrictions will be in place from 12.00 hrs to 23.50 hrs on December 13.
Congestion expected from Falaknuma, Secunderabad stretches
Police said congestion is likely between 14.30 IST and 23.50 IST from Falaknuma to Uppal via Santoshnagar and from Secunderabad to Uppal via Habsiguda. Commuters have been advised to avoid these stretches and use alternative routes.
Citizens have also been urged to shift to public transport, including TSRTC buses and Hyderabad Metro Rail, to reach their destinations.
Detailed diversion routes for heavy vehicles
According to the advisory, the following diversions will be implemented within Uppal Traffic Police Station limits:
Heavy vehicles coming from Ghatkesar towards Uppal will be diverted at HMDA Uppal Bhagayath entrance (Mehfil Hotel) towards Nagole–LB Nagar.
Heavy vehicles from LB Nagar towards Uppal will be diverted at the U-turn near Nagole Metro Station towards Nagole U-turn–HMDA Bhagayath–Toyota U-turn–Boduppal–Chengicherla–IOCL Cherlapally or Ghatkesar.
Vehicles approaching Uppal from Tarnaka will be diverted at Habsiguda X Road towards Nacharam–NFC Rotary–IOCL Cherlapally–Ghatkesar.
Vehicles from Ramanthapur towards Uppal will be diverted at Street No. 8 towards Habsiguda X Roads–Nacharam–NFC Rotary–IOCL Cherlapally–Ghatkesar.
Heavy vehicles moving from Warangal towards Hyderabad via Uppal must take the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Ghatkesar and proceed via Abdullapurmet–LB Nagar–Dilsukhnagar.
Vehicles travelling from Hyderabad towards Warangal via Uppal must proceed through LB Nagar–Hayathnagar and take the ORR at Abdullapurmet.
