Uppal Stadium Black Ticket Racket Raises Police Concern

HYDERABAD: Black marketing of match tickets intensified near Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal ahead of the game, with fans alleging that tickets were being sold at several times their original price.
Fans allege steep rise in ticket resale prices
According to spectators near Gate No. 2, tickets priced at ₹1,000 were allegedly being sold for ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 in the black market. Fans also claimed that ₹10,000 tickets were being offered for as high as ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh.
Police suspect that touts purchased tickets in advance and later resold them illegally at inflated prices.
Heavy crowd gathers near Gate No. 2
Large crowds of cricket fans gathered near the stadium and around Gate No. 2 hours before the match. Police personnel increased surveillance in the area following reports of illegal ticket sales.
Officials said strict action would be taken against those involved in black marketing of tickets.
