Uppal police arrests man for murdering wife, abandons infant daughter at Secunderabad Railway Station

Secunderabad: A man allegedly murdered his wife following a petty dispute and wrapped her body in a bag and left it in a rented house. Subsequently the accused abandoned his daughter in Secunderabad railway station and continued to work in a hotel without visiting the house.
Finding something fishy House owner reported the incident to the Uppal police who started an investigation. Going further into details, the accused, Pradip Bola, who married Madumita Pradhan in 2019, initially lived a conjugal life with her in their native village in Odisha. In search of a better livelihood, the couple moved to Hyderabad and began working at a hostel in Hi-Tech City. During their time in Hyderabad, the deceased became pregnant. Subsequently he sent his wife to his in-laws’ residence.
Tensions escalated when a family dispute arose following the death of a relative.The accused on the death of their relative had a dispute with Madumita, remained away from. “The accused, suspecting his wife’s fidelity remained away from her and also failed to have a glance at their newborn baby girl with a misconception that the deceased is having an extra marital affair with some person and that she doesn’t care for him. The ongoing suspicions led to frequent quarrels, prompting the wife to file a complaint against the accused at Kendrapara Police Station,” said Uppal police.
Despite a compromise mediated by village elders, the couple’s disputes continued. They moved into a rented room in New Bharath Nagar, Uppal, with their baby girl, while the accused worked at a hotel.
On July 4, 2024, another argument erupted when the deceased allegedly failed to provide food for the accused. The quarrels persisted until July 7, 2024, when the situation turned violent. In a heated argument, the accused allegedly struck the deceased over the head with a chapathi rolling board. When she fell to the ground, he reportedly wrapped a chuni around her neck and choked her to death.
After confirming her death, the accused placed her body in a bag and hid it in their bathroom.He then fled from the rented house along with the baby. Following a complaint from the house owner the Uppal police of Rachakonda commissionerate booked a case and started investigation.
Investigation revealed that the accused abandoned the baby at Secunderabad Railway Station and continued work at the Hotel. Uppal police zeroed in on the accused and arrested him on Saturday and sent him to judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Secunderabd railway police along with RPF and childline members who found the baby girl as a part of Operation Muskan-10, handed over her to Childline Staff for shelter. Further investigation is underway.
