Uppal works disrupt water supply across Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Water supply to several localities in Hyderabad will be disrupted for 24 hours from 10 am on July 27 to 10 am on July 28 as junction works are taken up on the 1,600 mm diameter MS gravity main pipeline of Ring Main-2 under Phase II of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project.
Flyover work prompts pipeline operations
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) said the works are being carried out to support the accelerated construction of the grade separator (flyover) at Uppal Junction being executed by the Medchal–Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation. The operations are aimed at facilitating the early completion of the P15 foundation after the road from Uppal Junction towards the Warangal Highway was closed to minimise traffic disruptions.

The affected areas are Fatehnagar, Hasmathpet, Prakash Nagar, Nacharam, HMT Nagar, Beerappagadda, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Venkat Reddy Nagar, Uppal, Mekalamandi, parts of Bholakpur, Padmarao Nagar, Bansilalpet, Buddhanagar, parts of Tarnaka, Sitafalmandi, Mettuguda, parts of Lalapet, North Lalaguda, Addagutta, Balanagar, South Central Railway, Military Engineer Services (MES) and Secunderabad Cantonment Board.
