Unlawful U Turns Near Q City Building Raise Safety Concerns In Gachibowli

Hyderabad: Hyderabad citizens have raised concerns over the dangerous practice of unlawful U-turns being made near the Q City Building in the Financial District of Gachibowli. Commuters are taking shortcuts to save time, putting their lives at risk. In response, residents are demanding that the Cyberabad Traffic Police immediately close the gap in the median with barricades until the advertising pole is installed as part of a safety measure to prevent accidents.

Koushik, an IT employee, shared his observation with the Hyderabad Mail, stating, “I noticed several commuters making unlawful U-turns at the Q City Building during my journey.” He pointed out that the recent approval by the TGIIC team for private agencies to erect Uni Poles for advertising purposes demonstrated a lack of accountability, as there were no barricades or work-in-progress signs in place. This, he said, is encouraging commuters to disregard traffic rules in the area.

Koushik took to social media, highlighting the issue on X (formerly Twitter), where he wrote, “Educated individuals breaking rules in the financial district near Q City Building. No responsibility by the TGIIC team. @CYBTRAFFIC, please close this gap with barricades until the advertising pole is installed. @CPCyberabad @cyberabadpolice.”

Another user, @commoncitizenhyd, also raised concerns about the risks posed by these unlawful U-turns. “I saw a couple making a U-turn without helmets. They were putting their lives in danger just to save a small distance,” the user posted.

Ekambranath criticized the lack of discipline and respect for rules, saying, “We lack the common sense to adhere to basic rules, even though we are educated. It’s a clear example of educated illiteracy.”

As concerns continue to grow, citizens are urging authorities to take swift action to prevent further accidents in this high-traffic area.
