University of Hyderabad tops Nature Index rankings in 2024

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH), an Institution of Eminence (IoE), has again secured the top position in the latest Nature Index rankings for 2024. The university is ranked first among Indian universities and 16th among all institutions in the Academic sector.

The Nature Index measures high-quality research output in the Natural and Physical Sciences, including Chemistry, Life Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

In response to the ranking, Vice Chancellor Prof. B.J. Rao expressed his pride in UoH’s consistent performance, saying, “Consistency is the hallmark of excellence, and we are proud to have maintained our first position among universities as a leading Indian institution. Our continued presence at the top is a testament to our unwavering commitment to academic rigor, innovative research, and student-centricity. The 2024 Research Leaders rankings are based on Nature Index data from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. During this period, the University of Hyderabad (UoH) achieved a count of 60 and a share of 20.10 in the Academic sector. The count represents the number of articles with at least one author from the University of Hyderabad (UoH), while the share is a fractional count reflecting the percentage of authors from the institution and the number of affiliated institutions per article, with a maximum combined share of one per article.
