School bus trapped: Unfinished roadworks cause chaos
Ameenpur: On Wednesday, a school bus full of students got stuck on the Ameenpur Lalabhai Colony road due to the damaged road surface caused by unfinished roadworks. This incident raises concerns about the safety hazards incomplete construction projects can create and the disruptions they cause to traffic flow.
For the past two years, the residents of Ameenpur have been living with a road issue that has significantly impacted their daily lives. In their most dilapidated state, the roads were dug up, leaving the route from Ameenpur Lalabhai Colony to Vani Nagar via Chakrapuri Colony in a deplorable condition. As the residents demand, the Ameenpur Municipality Corporation must urgently respond and resume the road works that have been halted.
While speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Ramakrishna Yadav, a resident of Ameenpur in Sangareddy District, mentioned that the road works from Ameenpur Lalabhai Colony to Vani Nagar Road via Chakrapuri Colony were initiated by the municipality two years ago but are currently on hold. This road is essential for daily commuters and employees to access the hospitals quickly. It also connects Ameenpur to the Miyapur-Bachupally Road.

“Due to the halted work, the road deteriorated, causing significant inconvenience to commuters passing through the area,” said RK Yadav.
The road is causing trouble to daily commuters as it was dug up, further leading to health hazards like back pain and health issues. Since not everyone can attend Prajabhavan, please make sure to address the issue asked by RK Yadav.
“The Ameenpur to Miyapur Road is a 2.5 km metal road constructed 10-15 years ago. Funds of ₹10 crore were sanctioned under SDF. Due to a government change, work has been stopped. We have sent reports requesting the same road be taken up again from SDF funds. However, a Government Order (GO) has not been released due to the election code. We are awaiting orders to resume work on the road,” said Praveen, Assistant Engineer, Ameenpur Municipality.
“Before the election, a seven-crore fund was allocated to Ameenpur Roads, and works were started. The works halted following the announcement of the election results,” said the resident
“I complained about this issue to the concerned authorities, but they responded but did not act. I also took this issue to Nodal Officer Hari Chandana, and she responded. But now she is transferred,” said the resident.
“Lakhs of people use this road as a crucial link from Ameenpur to Miyapur-Bachupally road. As the rainy season sets in, the situation is becoming dire. I implore the authorities to resume work as soon as possible,” pleaded RK Yadav.
