Homes glowed with colourful rangoli and mango leaf festoons, which symbolise prosperity and well-being. In addition, many visited temples to offer prayers and seek blessings for the year ahead.

A key highlight of the festival was ‘Ugadi pachadi’, a traditional dish that blends six flavours: bitter neem flowers, tangy raw mango, sweet jaggery, sour tamarind pulp, salt, and spicy chilli or pepper. This dish reminds people of the varied experiences of life.
