IPS Probationer Moves Telangana HC to Quash Sexual Harassment FIR

Telangana High Court IPS Uday Krishna Reddy

HYDERABAD: IPS probationer Uday Krishna Reddy, who is undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), has approached the Telangana High Court. He has sought the quashing of a First Information Report (FIR) filed against him on a sexual harassment complaint by a fellow probationer.

According to the petition, the two developed a romantic relationship during their foundation course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. The relationship continued after they joined the National Police Academy in Hyderabad.

The petitioner said they had planned to marry after completing their training and getting their cadre postings. He also claimed that he had provided financial help to the complainant on several occasions during their relationship.

Petitioner claims complaint was filed after he rejected her request

The petition said differences arose after the complainant suspected him of being involved with another woman. The petitioner denied the allegation and said he repeatedly assured her that he was not in another relationship.

According to the petition, the complainant married an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer on May 28, 2026.

The petitioner further claimed that after her marriage, the complainant met him at the National Police Academy and expressed a wish to restart their relationship. He said he refused her request.

He alleged that she then filed a false criminal complaint against him to protect herself. The Telangana High Court is yet to hear the petition.
