U.S. Consulate Hyderabad hiring Public Engagement Specialist
Hyderabad: The U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad is actively recruiting for the role of Public Engagement Specialist (Emerging Voices). The position is open to all qualified candidates, and the application deadline is October 6, 2024.

Job responsibilities:
The Emerging Voices (EV) Specialist will operate under the direct supervision of the Public Engagement Specialist or the Public Affairs Officer designee.
This role involves leading the Consulate’s Public Diplomacy (PD) efforts with the EV audience sector, which includes youth, minorities, and other influential groups using new digital communication channels. The specialist will plan, develop, coordinate, oversee, and evaluate PD activities and initiatives aimed at these sectors.
The specialist will also coordinate with colleagues on education outreach, academic advising, English language programs, experiential learning, and exchange and alumni programs, focusing on hard-to-reach or minority groups crucial to Mission goals.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of four years in a multilingual, multicultural, or multinational environment, with significant duties in marketing, public relations, communication, or education. Experience in audience or market analysis and social media management is required.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of U.S. foreign policy, American interests in India, and the EV sector. Knowledge of regional, ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural factors affecting EV perceptions is essential.
Education: A university degree in communications, journalism, international affairs, American or intercultural studies, marketing, or a local equivalent is required.
Skills and abilities:
Language proficiency: English Level IV (speak, read, write) and Telugu, Hindi, or Urdu Level IV (speak, read, write) required; proficiency will be tested.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, management, and technical skills are necessary.
