Two killed in bus collision on NH-65 in Sangareddy district

Two killed in bus collision on NH-65 in Sangareddy district

Hyderabad: Two individuals died after an RTC bus collided with their two-wheeler on NH-65 at Gotigaripally in Kohir Mandal, Sangareddy District, in the early hours of Monday, February 17, 2025.

The victims have been identified as Jatoth Pavan (26) and Rathod Shankar (27), and they both are residents of Arjun Nayak Thanda, who were allegedly involved in a crash caused by rash and negligent driving.

The Kohir police have registered a case, and the bodies have been sent to the government hospital in Zaheerabad for postmortem.

Earlier, on the morning of Saturday, February 15, 2025, a speeding BMW crashed near a traffic police booth in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The driver, who was reportedly inebriated, lost control of the vehicle, causing one of the tires to burst. After the crash, the driver fled the scene. Jubilee Hills police have launched an investigation into the incident.

In a separate accident on Friday, February 14, 2025, a 40-year-old man, Parasuramulu, was killed when a car driven by Vishwas from Maharashtra struck him on NH-44 in Shamirpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Parasuramulu sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Shamirpet police registered a case.

On the same day, another BMW crashed into an auto trolley on the Outer Ring Road near Patancheru, Sangareddy. The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries and was assisted by locals.

In a tragic incident on September 30, 2024, Dr. Nilay Reddy, a 29-year-old cornea and anterior segment fellow at LV Prasad Eye Hospital, died in a road accident near Himayath Sagar on the Outer Ring Road in Rajendranagar. Dr. Reddy’s car collided with a road divider and veered off the road, crashing into nearby bushes. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest he was traveling at approximately 140 km/h in an area with a speed limit of 120 km/h.

Earlier in September, on the 21st, a 32-year-old woman, Raga Jyothi, was killed after being struck and run over by a lorry while attempting to cross the road in Medchal. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On September 18, 2024, Neeta, a woman returning home after dropping off her children at school, was killed when a lorry loaded with gas cylinders struck her scooter after a school bus failed to stop.
