TSRTC driver dies after stopping bus during heart attack

SANGAREDDY: A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) driver died after suffering a heart attack while driving a bus in Sangareddy district, moments after safely pulling the vehicle to the roadside and preventing a possible accident.

Driver halts bus, alerts passengers

The incident occurred near Palvatla village in Sangareddy district on Saturday afternoon. The TSRTC bus, operated from the Sangareddy depot, was travelling from Jogipet to Vattipalli with about 40 passengers on board.

The driver, Janardhan, suddenly experienced severe chest pain while the bus was in motion. He remained alert, slowed the vehicle and stopped it safely on the roadside, averting danger to passengers.

Shifted to hospitals, declared dead

When passengers asked why the bus had been stopped, Janardhan told them he was experiencing chest pain. An ambulance was called, and he was first taken to the Jogipet government hospital. He was later shifted to the RTC hospital at Tarnaka in Hyderabad for advanced treatment.

Janardhan, aged 50, died while undergoing treatment.

Last rites on Sunday

Janardhan hailed from Brahmanapalli village in Andole mandal. His family said his last rites would be performed on Sunday.

Passengers and locals praised the driver for prioritising passenger safety and performing his duty responsibly even in a medical emergency.
