Hyderabad Ips Trainee Harassment Case Explained What The Complaint Against M Uday Krishna Reddy Says

HYDERABAD: A court on Monday remanded trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy to judicial custody in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a fellow trainee woman IPS officer. DCP (Women Safety Wing) Lavanyanayak Jadav is supervising the investigation.

Police probe another alleged relationship

Investigators are examining evidence that suggests Uday Krishna Reddy was also in a close relationship with another woman from Andhra Pradesh. According to sources, the complainant had informed investigators that the accused was involved in another relationship. Police are now verifying this claim as part of the investigation.

Crime scene recreated, items seized

As part of the investigation, police recreated the alleged crime scene and searched Uday Krishna Reddy’s room in Ashok Nagar. During the search, they seized a laptop, a mobile phone, a knife, and two handwritten love letters.

Woman from Andhra Pradesh questioned

The preliminary investigation found that the accused allegedly developed a close relationship with a woman from Andhra Pradesh. Police said the woman married in 2014 but separated from her husband in 2023. Since then, she has been living with her son.

Investigators said she met Uday Krishna Reddy after the separation. They allegedly became close friends. On his suggestion, she moved to Hyderabad and initially joined a private organisation.

Police said she resigned from the job in January this year after the accused advised her to do so. She later joined an IAS coaching institute in Ashok Nagar. Investigators alleged that Uday Krishna Reddy proposed a live-in relationship, but she declined because her divorce had not been legally finalised.

Complainant allegedly shared her experience

According to investigators, the woman met the trainee IPS officer, who later filed the complaint, in February this year. During their conversation, the complainant allegedly said she had also been in a close relationship with Uday Krishna Reddy. She further claimed that he had physically assaulted her and subjected her to aggressive and erratic behaviour.

Police said the woman distanced herself from the accused after learning about these allegations.

Statements recorded, investigation continues

Investigators have recorded statements from around 20 people so far. They also said they collected evidence supporting the complainant’s allegation that the accused forcibly entered her room and snatched her mobile phone.

During the investigation, police also learned that several trainees had reportedly faced difficulties because of Uday Krishna Reddy’s alleged temper and behaviour during training.

The investigation is ongoing.
