Traffic advisory for Hanuman Jayanthi procession in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: In view of ‘Hanuman Jayanthi Vijaya yatra’ Hyderabad traffic police issued a traffic advisory by Hyderabad police commissioner K Sreenivasa Reddy. The restrictions are likely to be implemented from 11am to 7pm on April 23, 2024.
The following traffic restrictions and diversions are issued to ensure smooth flow of traffic and avoid inconvenience to the public.
On April 23, 2024, at 11.30 am the main procession will start from Gowliguda Ram Mandir and proceed to Hanuman Mandir Tadbund, Secunderabad via:
Gowliguda, Ram Mandir, – Putlibowli ‘X’ roads – Andhra Bank ‘X’ roads, Koti – DM & HS – Sultan Bazar ‘X’ Roads – Ramkoti ‘X’ roads – Kachiguda ‘X’ roads – Narayanguda YMCA – Chikkadpally ‘X’ Roads – RTC ‘X’ roads – Ashok Nagar – Gandhi Nagar – back side Viceroy Hotel – Praga Tools – Kavadiguda – CGO Towers – Bansilalpet Road – Bible house – City Light Hotel – Bata ShowRoom – Ujjaini Mahankali Temple – Old Ramgopalpet PS – Paradise X Roads – CTO Junction – Lee Royal Palace – Brooke Bond – Imperial Garden – Mastan Cafe – Left Turn Sree Hanuman Temple Tadbund. “Sri Hanuman Jayanthi Vijaya Yathra ” procession covers 12 KMs of distance. “Sri Hanuman Jayanthi Vijaya Yathra” concludes at Hanuman Mandir Tadbund at about 8 PM.
Another procession starts from Karmanghat Hanuman temple (Rachakonda Commissionerate Jurisdiction) will enter into Hyderabad City limits at Champapet and passes through Champapet X Rd – IS Sadan – Dhobhighat- Saidabad Y Junction (DCP South East Zone office) – Saidabad Colony Road – Shankeshwar Bazar and enters in to Rachakonda Commissionerate Limits at SaroorNagar Tank and again enters into city limits at Rajiv Gandhi Statue, Dilsukhnagar and passes through Moosaram Bagh Junction – Malakpet – Nalgonda X Road – Azampura Rotary – Chaderghat X Road and will join the Main procession at DM&HS, Women’s Junction. This tributary procession covers 10.8 KMs before joining the Main Procession at DM&HS Junction.
During the procession, the traffic will be either stopped or diverted at below shown Locations.
Diversion 1
When procession starts at Ram Mandir Gowliguda
- Diversion at Shanker Sher Hotel – Traffic coming from Afzalgunj will not be allowed towards Gowliguda Chaman and will be diverted at Shenkar Sher Hotel towards SA Bazar Mosque, Bademiya Petrol bunk.
- Diversion at Gowliguda Chaman – Traffic coming from by lanes in between Shankar Sher hotel to Gowliguda Chaman will not be allowed towards Ram Mandir and will be diverted at Gowliguda Chaman towards BSNL Lane, Jambagh.
Diversion 2
When the Procession reaches Putlibowli X road
- Diversion at Ranga Mahal – Traffic coming from Chaderghat will not be allowed towards MJ Market and will be diverted at Rangmahal X road towards CBS, SJ Bridge, Afzalgunj Island, SA Bazar and MJ Market (Vice Versa)
- Diversion at GPO X Road- Traffic coming from GPO Abids(Big Bazar) will not be allowed towards Bank Street and will be diverted at GPO Abids(Big Bazar) towards MJ Market.
- Diversion at Yousefian Company- Traffic coming from MJ Market will not be allowed towards Bank Street and will be diverted at Yousufian Company towards GPO, Abids.
- Diversion at DM&HS- Traffic coming from Sultan Bazar X road(Bata X Road) will not be allowed to take a right turn towards Andhra Bank and will be diverted at DM&HS towards Chaderghat.
- Diversion at DM&HS- Traffic coming from Chaderghat towards Andhra Bank & Putlibowli will not be allowed and diverted at DM&HS towards Sultan Bazar X road(Bata X Road)

When the procession reaches Andhra Bank, Koti
- Diversion at Chaderghat X Roads – Traffic coming from Chaderghat will not be allowed towards DM&HS and will be diverted at Chaderghat X road towards Nimboliadda and Rangmahal
Diversion 4
When the procession reaches at DM&HS
- Diversion at Kacheguda X road- Traffic coming from Kacheguda X road will not be allowed towards Sutlan Bazar X Roads and will be diverted at Kacheguda X road towards Tourist Hotel & YMCA.
Diversion 5
When the procession reaches Sultan Bazar X Road
- Diversion at Boggulakunta X Roads – Traffic coming from Boggulakunta X Roads will not be allowed towards Ramkoti X road and will be diverted at Boggulakunta X road towards King Koti.
- Diversion at Eden Garden T Junction- Traffic coming from Eden Garden will not be allowed towards Ramkoti X Road and will be diverted at Eden Garden towards King Koti.
Diversion 6
When the Procession reaches Kachiguda X Road
- Diversion at Lingampally X Road- Traffic coming from Kacheguda Railway Station and other by lanes will not be allowed towards Kacheguda X road and will be diverted at Lingampally X road towards Barkatpura Post office Road and Chappal Bazar.
- Diversion at YMCA Circle- Traffic coming from YMCA will not be allowed towards Kacheguda X Roads and diverted at YMCA towards Barkatpura Post Office.

When the Procession reaches Rajmohalla Chilla
- Diversion at Shalimar Theatre -Traffic coming from Shalimar theatre road will not be allowed towards Rajmohalla and diverted at Shalimar towards Eden Gardens.
Diversion 8
When the procession reaches at YMCA
- Diversion at Water Tank – Traffic coming from Cemetery via Vittalwadi X Road will not be allowed towards YMCA and will be diverted at Water tank towards Melkote park.
- Diversion at Post Office – Traffic coming from Barkatpura will not be allowed towards YMCA and diverted at Barkatpura Post office towards Crown Cafe

When procession reaches Narayanaguda X Road
- Diversion Starting at Narayanaguda Flyover (Street No. 15, Himayath Nagar )- Traffic coming from Himayath Nagar Y Junction will not be allowed towards Narayanaguda X Road and will be diverted towards Crown Cafe over flyover.
- Diversion at Crown Café- Traffic coming from Crown Cafe will not be allowed towards Narayanaguda X Road and will be diverted towards Narayanaguda flyover.
Diversion 10
When procession reaches RTC X Road
- Diversion at Metro Café – Traffic coming from Musheerabad X Road will not be allowed towards RTC X Road and will be diverted at Metro café towards Ramnagar Fish Market Road.
- Diversion at VST X Road – Traffic coming from Hindi Maha Vidyalaya will not be allowed towards RTC X Roads and will be diverted at VST towards Bagh Lingampally.
- Diversion at Indira Park X Road- Traffic coming from Indira Park X Road will not be allowed towards RTC X Road and will be diverted at Indira Park X Road towards Dharna Chowk

When procession reaches Ashok Nagar X Road
- Diversion at Gandhi Nagar T Junction – Traffic coming from Gandhi Nagar T Junction will not be allowed towards Ashok Nagar X Road and will be diverted towards Lower Tank Bund.
- Diversion at Street No. 9, Himayath Nagar -Traffic coming from Street No.9, Himayath Nagar will not be allowed towards Ashok Nagar X Road and will be diverted towards Narayanaguda Flyover

When the procession reaches Gandhi Nagar T Junction
- Diversion at Kavadiguda X Road – Traffic coming from Kavadiguda X Road will not be allowed towards Gandhi Nagar T Jn. and will be diverted towards Sailing Club.
- Diversion at Musheerabad X Road- Traffic coming from Musheerabad X Road will not be allowed towards Kavadiguda and will be diverted towards RTC X Road via Metro Cafe.
- Diversion at DBR Mill – Traffic coming from Dhobighat will not be allowed towards Gandhi Nagar T Junction and will be diverted towards Children’s park.
- Diversion at DBR Mill – Traffic coming from Sailing Club towards Gandhi Nagar T Junction via DBR Mill will be diverted towards Dhobighat.

When procession reaches Kavadiguda X Road
- Diversion at Bible House – Traffic coming from Bible House will not be allowed towards Kavadiguda X Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan.
- Diversion at Sailing Club- Traffic coming from Karbala Maidan will not be allowed towards Kavadiguda X Road and will be diverted towards Children Park.

When the procession reaches at CGO Towers
- Diversion at Bible House- Traffic coming from Bible House will not be allowed towards CGO Towers and will be diverted at Bible House towards Karbala.

When procession reaches at R.P. Road (Bible House)
- Diversion at Karbala Maidan- Traffic coming from Karbala Maidan towards Bible House will not be allowed towards RP Road and will be diverted at Karbala Maidan towards Ranigunj, Paradise and Patny.
- Diversion at Kavadiguda- Traffic coming from Kavadiguda Towards Bible House will not be allowed and diverted at Kavadiguda towards Sailing club.
- Diversion at Patny- Traffic coming from Patny will not be allowed towards Bible House and diverted at Patny towards Paradise.
Diversion 16
When procession reaches Mahankali Temple
- Diversion at Ranigunj -Traffic coming from Ranigunj towards Rocha Bazar will not be allowed and will be diverted at Ranigunj towards Minister’s Road.
- Diversion at CTO – Traffic coming from CTO towards Rocha Bazar will not be allowed and will be diverted at CTO towards SBI.

When procession reaches Paradise Junction
- Diversion on to CTO Flyover- Traffic coming from Begumpet towards CTO will not be allowed and will be diverted towards CTO Flyover on both sides.
- Diversion at Balamrai- Traffic Coming from Bowenpally, Tadbund and Balamrai towards CTO will be diverted at Balamrai towards Brookbond, Tivoli.

When procession reaches CTO
- Diversion on to CTO Flyover- Traffic coming from Begumpet towards CTO will not be allowed and will be diverted towards CTO Flyover on both sides.
- Diversion at Safe Express – Traffic coming from Suchitra towards CTO will be diverted at Safe express towards Bapuji Nagar, Bowenpally Market, Trimulgherry X Road, JBS
- Diversion at Bowenpally X Roads- Traffic coming from Balanagar towards Tadbund will be diverted at Bowenpally X Road towards Safe Express and Traffic coming from Safe Express will be diverted towards Balanagar
Diversion 19
When procession reaches Brook Bond
- Diversion at Tivoli- Traffic coming from Tivoli Theatre towards Brook Bond will not be allowed and will be diverted at Tivoli towards Trimulgherry.
- Diversion at Diamond Point- Traffic coming from Bowenpally market, Bapuji Nagar be diverted at Diamond Point towards Narne Estate, JBS.
Diversion 20
When procession reaches Mastan Café Road
- Diversion at Bowenpally Market- Traffic coming from Bowenpally Market towards Diamond Point will not be allowed and will be diverted at Bowenpally Market towards Trimulgherry.
Diversion 21
When procession reaches finally Tadbund Hanuman Temple
- Diversion at Mastan Cafe- Traffic coming from Brooke Bond and Sikh Village will not be allowed towards the temple and diverted at Mastan café towards Bapuji Nagar.
Meanwhile, here are the suggested routes for travel between 9am to 2pm
- Commuters Coming from Lakdi ka pul intending to go towards Dilsukhnagar OR South Zone via Koti, Bank Street & Chaderghat are suggested to take route via Basheerbagh, Old MLA Quarters, Himayathnagar Y Junction, Narayanaguda fly Over, Barkathpura, Tourist Jn., Nimboliadda, Chaderghat Causeway, Nalgonda X roads.
- Commuters Coming from Dilsukh Nagar intending go towards Mehdipatnam via Koti and DM&HS are suggested to take route via LB Nagar, Uppal, Tarnaka, Secunderabad OR via LB Nagar, Chandrayangutta, Aramghar, Attapur, Mehdipatnam.
- Commuters coming from Lakdikapool towards Secunderabad Station or Uppal are suggested to take route via VV Statue, Somajiguda, Greenlands, Begumpet Fly Over, Prakashnagar Fly Over, Paradise Flyover after getting down here commuters may take Left to JBS or Right to Sec’bad Station OR straight towards St. John Rotary for Uppal.
Hyderabad city police appealed citizens to avoid the procession routes in the mentioned timings and advised to plan your commuting in the suggested routes. Any inconvenience in the commuting may be reported through our social media platforms, Traffic Control Room and Traffic Helpline. The Traffic diversions/closures of roads will be removed/opened once the tail end of the procession crosses particular points.
