TPCC Files Complaint Against KTR

Hyderabad: In a significant development, a complaint was filed against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) with the Vanasthalipuram police station. The complaint said KTR allegedly defamed the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the ruling Congress party with his misleading comments on the Musi River project.

The petitioner Sama Rammohan Reddy, who is also the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee or (TPCC) media convener, has noted in his complaint that KTR claimed that the chief minister has blown up the project cost of Musi the riverfront to Rs 1.5 lakh crore against the initial estimate of Rs 16,000 crore to clean the 55 kilometres of the Musi river.

“We have received a complaint from the TPCC media convener on Wednesday. However, no case has been registered yet,” Vanasthalipuram Inspector Y Ashok Redy said.

Earlier, KTR lashed out at Revanth Reddy over the ambitious Musi Riverfront development project. Addressing the affected residents of Tulasi Nagar in Amberpet Constituency, the BRS leader had accused the Congress government of robbing off the shelter from poor families living in the riverbed areas along the Musi river. He even claimed that the chief minister was deliberately targeting the poor people and demolishing their structures to hide his government’s failure to fulfill the pre-poll promises.

The complainant also accused the BRS leader of misleading the people stating that from the allocated Rs.1,5 lakh crore for the rejuvenation of Musi river, the ruling party was allegedly misappropriating Rs. 25,000 crore to send it to party leadership in the national capital.
