Hyderabad: Popular Tollywood actor and comedian Brahmanandam, also known as the “King of Comedy” and “Meme God,” has officially joined Instagram, quickly amassing a massive following of 385K within just two days.

Fans expressed their excitement over his arrival on social media, with many praising his presence on the platform. His first post featured him seeking blessings from Lord Venkateshwara Swamy, accompanied by the caption “Om Namo Venkatesaya.” Meme page admins flooded the comments section, sharing their joy. One fan page, celluloid_panda, commented, “Welcome to Insta meme god. Love you, guruji.”

Brahmanandam celebrated his 69th birthday on February 1, 2025. Born in 1956 in Chaganti Vari Palem, Sattenapalli, Andhra Pradesh, He is widely regarded as one of India’s finest and highest-paid comic actors.

He holds the Guinness World Record for the most screen credits for a living actor, having appeared in over 1,000 films. He has also won several awards, including six Nandi Awards and two Filmfare Awards. In 2009, he was honored with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award.

After completing his Master’s in Arts, Brahmanandam worked as a lecturer in West Godavari district while also performing in theatre and as a mimicry artist. His television debut came in 1985 with the show Pakapakalu on DD Telugu.

His breakthrough film role came in 1987 with Aha Naa Pellanta!, followed by several other successful films. Throughout his career, he has become an iconic figure in Telugu cinema, known for his comedic roles in films like Vivaha Bhojanambu (1988), Money (1993), Anaganaga Oka Roju (1997), Dhee (2007), and Race Gurram (2014).

Brahmanandam has also received numerous awards, including Filmfare, Nandi, and South Indian International Movie Awards, among others. His personal life includes being married to Lakshmi, with two sons, one of whom, Gautham, is also an actor.

In addition to his acting career, Brahmanandam is an amateur sculptor and sketch artist and enjoys reading the philosophical writings of Swami Vivekananda and Jiddu Krishnamurthi.
