Tollywood actress Hema claims innocence despite positive drug test

Hyderabad: A chargesheet filed by the Bengaluru police has confirmed that Tollywood actress Hema is implicated in a drug case related to a rave party raid conducted by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) at a farmhouse near Electronics City on May 15. According to the forensic science laboratory (FSL) report, MDMA was detected in her body, which led to her name inclusion in the chargesheet filed by the CCB in court on Monday.
Recently, Hema released a self-test report indicating a negative result and claimed that she did not consume drugs, asserting that her lab report analysis supports her claim.
The rave party took place at GR Farms in Singena Agrahara, and the chargesheet names 88 individuals as accused, including Hema. Another Tollywood actor, Ashi Roy, who tested negative for drugs, is listed as a witness.
Hema initially denied her involvement, releasing a video claiming she was in Hyderabad at the time of the raid. However, following medical test results indicating drug consumption, she was arrested and is now out on bail. Police revealed that Hema attended the party as a friend of the organiser, Vasu.
The charge sheet, which contains 1,086 pages, names nine individuals, including Vasu and his associates, dentist Ranadhir Babu from Chittoor district, Arun Kumar from Koramangala, Nagababu, Mohammed Aboobakar, and Nigerian national Augustine Dada as key figures responsible for organizing the party and supplying drugs. Hema and 78 others have been charged under Section 27(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which penalises drug consumption.
During the raid, the CCB seized MDMA pills, MDMA crystals, six grams of hydro cannabis, five grams of cocaine, a Rs 500 note laced with cocaine, six kilograms of hydro ganja, five mobile phones, two luxury cars, and DJ equipment.
Initially, Tollywood actor Srikanth’s name also went viral in connection with the rave party, as it was reported that he participated. However, he later debunked this as fake news and asked people not to believe it.
