Tolichowki SI held by ACB for accepting ₹10,000 bribe
HYDERABAD: A Sub-Inspector of Police at Tolichowki Police Station was caught accepting a ₹10,000 bribe on September 1, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said.
The ACB’s City Range-I unit caught the officer, R. Pandu Naik, while he accepted the bribe from a complainant.
According to the ACB, Naik demanded the money to avoid registering a case against the complainant. The case related to a complaint filed by the complainant’s mother.
Naik also allegedly promised to settle the family dispute amicably. He further assured the complainant that he would not seize his passport.
ACB officials caught Naik red-handed during the trap. They recovered the tainted ₹10,000 from him at his instance.
The agency alleged that Naik acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.
The ACB arrested Naik and will produce him before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The investigation is underway.
The ACB has withheld the complainant’s identity and other details for security reasons.
The agency urged citizens to report bribe demands by public servants on its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be filed through its WhatsApp and social media channels. The ACB said it will keep the identities of victims and complainants confidential.
