Tolichowki grapples with overflowing sewage issue

HYDERABAD: The residents of Tolichowki, Hyderabad, are grappling with a severe and persistent sewage issue. This problem has escalated to the point of flooding the main road, particularly at the corner of the road, posing a significant threat to the safety and health of both residents and commuters. The situation is particularly dire during the rainy season, exacerbating the already alarming conditions.
While talking with the Hyderabad Mail, an anonymous resident expressed concern, saying, “I am puzzled as to why authorities have chosen to ignore the ongoing problem of sewage flowing on the road for several months.”

The residents of Tolichowki have diligently brought their concerns to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, hoping for a swift and effective response. A resident shared, “We have personally submitted our complaint through ‘X’, but to our disappointment, we have not received any response from the higher officials concerned. It’s disheartening to see the neglect of public problems.”
“The Tolichowki area is very close to the IT corridor, which includes Gachibowli, Madhapur, Manikonda, and Kondapur. Many IT professionals, software employees, and Hyderabad residents travel through this route. Travelling along these roads will become extremely challenging during the rainy season. Urgent action is needed to address this issue,” said the administrator of TG Citizen.
The admin of TG Citizen asks, “Why do people have to endure such hardships when there are supposed systems in place to prevent them?”
“I brought the issue to Minister Tolichowki’s attention, but unfortunately, I have not received a response to my complaint yet. I am hoping that he will address the problem and take the necessary action,” the resident disclosed.
TG Citizen took to ‘X’ and posted: “Tolichowki is a perfect place to witness every day of the year. Why do people suffer when the system is in place? Isn’t it the officials’ responsibility? Unfortunately, they haven’t taken care of it even after complaining two weeks ago.”
