Tngo Colony Water Issues Gachibowli

Hyderabad: Residents of TNGO’s Mutually Aided Co-operative Housing Society in Gachibowli are facing problems due to poor infrastructure and water supply issues. They have urged concerned authorities to take quick action to address their concerns.

One major issue is the lack of enough electric poles, causing power connection problems. Residents also struggle with low water pressure and a poor drainage system, leading to frequent sanitation issues.

To address these problems, a delegation of TNGO Gachibowli Housing Society met with Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) managing director Ashok Reddy.

They discussed key concerns, such as low water pressure, installing a new drainage system, and adding more water supply pipes with the water board officials. They also requested repairs and maintenance of the existing drainage system.

After going through their representation, the HMWS&SB official Ashok Reddy assured the delegation that the necessary steps would be promptly taken. He promised a new drainage system and improvements to boost water pressure, ensuring a better water supply for the residents of the society.

TNGO’s Colony is located in Survey No. 36 & 37 of Gopannapalli village, Gachibowli, Ranga Reddy district. In 2005, the then Andhra Pradesh government allotted 150 acres of land for the colony. This was done under the leadership of former Chief Minister YS Rajashekara Reddy to provide housing for government employees. The land was distributed through a draw system, and over the years, the colony has grown into a well-developed residential area.

Over a decade, the locality has seen substantial growth. Around 6,000 families, including government employees and pensioners, now live here. The colony has essential facilities such as roads, parks, an open gym, places of worship, a library, a market, streetlights, and water connections. However, due to inadequate infrastructure, the residents still face several problems.
