Telangana Minorities Study Circle Announces Free Upsc Coaching For 2026 Aspirants

Hyderabad: The Telangana Minorities Study Circle and Career Counselling Centre, functioning under the state’s Minorities Welfare Department, has announced free in-house coaching for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (Prelims cum Mains) for the academic year 2025–2026. The initiative is open exclusively to 100 eligible candidates from minority communities in Telangana, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis.

Facilities include digital classrooms, access to experienced faculty from Delhi and other parts of the country, a well-equipped library, internet and Wi-Fi access, and potentially accommodation, which is currently under consideration.

As per reservation norms, 33.33 percent of the seats are allocated to women, and five percent are reserved for persons with disabilities across all categories. Candidates seeking admission must apply online starting May 1, 2025. The last date for submitting applications is May 24, 2025. Only first-time applicants to the Study Circle are eligible, and selection will be based purely on merit through a screening test.

The screening test is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. It will be conducted at Telangana Minorities Residential Schools located in all district headquarters. The exam will consist of 70 objective-type questions carrying one mark each and two descriptive questions worth 15 marks each, making a total of 100 marks. There will be a penalty of one-third mark for each wrong answer in the objective section.

The syllabus includes current affairs (national and international), Indian history and the freedom movement, Indian and world geography, Indian polity and governance, economic and social development, environmental ecology, biodiversity, climate change, general science, English, quantitative aptitude, and logical reasoning.

Eligible candidates must be from Telangana and belong to the notified minority communities. They should hold a graduate degree of at least three years duration such as B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc., or a four-year degree such as B.Tech., B.Pharm., or B.Sc. (Agriculture). The annual family income must not exceed Rs. 5 lakh, certified by the local Tahsildar.

Candidates should not be employed or enrolled in any academic course during the 2025–2026 academic year and must not have availed any other similar government-sponsored UPSC coaching. They must also meet UPSC’s eligibility norms for the 2026 Civil Services Examination.

The list of shortlisted candidates for the next stage will be released on June 20, 2025. Interviews and document verification will begin from June 23, 2025.

Candidates must reach the examination centre by 9:30 AM on the day of the screening test and bring their own blue and black ballpoint pens. Late arrivals after 10:30 AM will not be allowed to take the test.
