Pawan Kalyan responds Karthi apology Over Tirupati Laddu Row

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan responded to actor Karthi, who apologized for the misunderstanding regarding the Tirupati Laddu controversy. Earlier in a film promotion, Karthi said that Laddu is a sensitive topic, which has blown up when Pawan Kalyan responded to it during a press meet. Pawan Kalyan asked the film industry to refrain from making jokes about the Tirupati Laddu row.

In a post addressing Karthi, Pawan Kalyan said, “I sincerely appreciate your kind gesture and swift response, as well as the respect you’ve shown towards our shared traditions. Matters concerning our sacred institutions, like Tirupati and its revered laddus, carry deep emotional weight for millions of devotees, and it’s essential for all of us to handle such topics with care.”

Kalyan further added that he understands that Karthi’s intention was unintentional, “That said, I wanted to bring this to your notice with no intentions behind it, and I understand the situation was unintentional. Our responsibility as public figures is to foster unity and respect, especially regarding what we cherish most—our culture and spiritual values. Let’s always strive to uplift these values while continuing to inspire through cinema. I would also like to express my admiration for you as a remarkable actor whose dedication and talent have consistently enriched our cinema.”

Kalyan also wished the actors for their upcoming film Satyam Sundaram along with the entire team.

Earlier, Karthi also apologized to Pawan Kalyan regarding his remarks. In an X post, Karthi said, “Dear @PawanKalyan sir, with deep respects to you, I apologize for any unintended misunderstanding caused. As a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara, I always hold our traditions dear. Best regards.”

What is the Tirupati Laddu controversy?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the Laddu prasadam distributed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam used adulterated ghee, which contains animal fat, as per the lab reports. This issue has blown up into a political and religious issue.
