Hyderabad: On the evening of February 22, 2025, a tipper truck caught fire in Kachavani Singaram, under the jurisdiction of Medipalli Police Station, Medchal district.

The driver managed to remain alert, and fortunately, no casualties were reported. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and extinguished the flames.

Fire breaks out at timber depot in Karmanghat, Saroornagar

In a separate incident, a fire broke out at a timber depot in Karmanghat, Saroornagar, on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The fire began at the Manikanta Timber Depot warehouse, located near the Anjaneya Swamy Temple. Although the fire caused significant damage, no casualties were reported. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

Local residents, alarmed by the large flames, immediately alerted the fire department and local police. Firefighters, along with the Saroornagar police, arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control within an hour, using two fire engines.

Recent fires in Hyderabad raise concerns

A series of recent fire incidents in Hyderabad have raised concerns about public safety. On February 18, 2025, two Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses caught fire at the Kushaiguda bus depot. Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, extinguishing the flames. No casualties or injuries were reported.

Earlier, on February 2, 2025, a fire broke out in a building near Kishan Bagh X Roads in the Old City. The fire originated in the cellar and spread to the upper floors. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, and although no casualties were reported, thick smoke engulfed the building.

In January, a fire occurred at a tiffin centre in Nizampet, Bachupally, possibly triggered by an LPG leak. No injuries were reported, and the fire was swiftly extinguished. Another fire broke out at VVC Motors (Mahindra Motors) showroom in Kondapur, Ranga Reddy district, destroying seven cars. Firefighters brought the blaze under control without any casualties.
