TIMS Alwal hospital to be ready by March 2026

HYDERABAD: Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj on Monday directed officials to speed up construction works at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences hospital at Alwal and complete the project within the timeline set by the State government.
The directions were issued during a field inspection conducted on the instructions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Vikas Raj reviewed the progress with Roads and Buildings engineers and representatives of the executing agency.

Project spread over 12.14 lakh sq ft at ₹1,196 crore
Stating that TIMS hospitals are a priority project of the State government, the Special Chief Secretary said the Alwal facility is being developed over 12,14,060 sq ft at an estimated cost of ₹1,196 crore. He added that the Chief Minister and the Roads and Buildings Minister are closely monitoring the progress of the works.

Overall physical progress at 70%
Officials informed that structural works have been completed, while about 95% of brickwork and plastering is over. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing works have reached 60%, while flooring and painting works are around 50%. Overall, the project has achieved about 70% physical progress.

Vikas Raj instructed officials and the contractor to complete all remaining works by the end of March 2026 and make the hospital ready for inauguration. He also directed the Roads and Buildings department to coordinate closely with the Health Department to ensure timely installation of medical infrastructure and operational readiness. Regular field inspections will continue, he said.
Chief Engineers Rajeswar Reddy and Linga Reddy, senior Roads and Buildings officials, field engineers and representatives of DEC Infrastructure Projects were present during the inspection.
