TELANGANA: Forest officials suspect that a tiger may have entered the forest stretch between Peerlapalli and Dharmaram villages in Jagdevpur mandal of Siddipet district, possibly from neighbouring Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.

Pugmarks found in Peerlapalli forest area

Pugmarks believed to be that of a tiger were identified in the area on Thursday. Following this, forest department officials from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district visited the spot and carried out inspections. Officials are examining the possible route through which the animal may have entered the area.

Fear grips villages in Jagdevpur mandal

With the suspected movement of the tiger, panic has spread across villages in Jagdevpur mandal. Forest officials have advised farmers, agricultural labourers and cattle herders to remain alert. They have urged residents not to move alone during night hours and warned against taking livestock for grazing near forest areas.

Special teams deployed, say officials

Forest officials said special teams have been deployed to monitor the situation in view of the suspected tiger movement. They appealed to villagers to immediately inform the forest department if they notice any signs or receive information related to the animal’s presence.
