Harichandana Dasari, C Narayana Reddy and Mikkilineni Manu Chowdhary selected in Fame India’s 2026 District Magistrates survey

HYDERABAD: Three Telangana District Collectors, including Hyderabad Collector Harichandana Dasari, have figured in Fame India magazine’s list of 100 “outstanding and best-performing” District Magistrates across the country for 2026.

Along with Harichandana Dasari of Hyderabad district, C Narayana Reddy of Ranga Reddy district and Mikkilineni Manu Chowdhary of Medchal–Malkajgiri district were selected in the preliminary findings of the nationwide survey conducted by Fame India in collaboration with Asia Post.

Fame India, a ratings magazine, identified 100 District Magistrates and Collectors as “outstanding and best-performing” administrative heads from across the country. The publication is set to feature 25 of the most distinguished officers in its upcoming 2026 edition.

The survey covered District Magistrates and Collectors from nearly 800 districts across India. Officers were assessed on parameters including administrative capability, governance, innovation, crisis management, accountability, public relations and development-oriented thinking.

According to Fame India, the exercise aims to recognise officers who have demonstrated excellence in administration and public service while implementing government schemes at the grassroots level.

The magazine said the selection process involved public feedback, inputs from ruling and Opposition leaders, ground surveys and assessments by senior bureaucrats.

Apart from Telangana, officers from states including Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar and Assam were included in the preliminary list.

Among the Telangana officers named in the survey were C Narayana Reddy (Ranga Reddy), Harichandana Dasari (Hyderabad) and Mikkilineni Manu Chowdhary (Medchal–Malkajgiri).
