Hyderabad: More than 3,000 women participated in the Saree Run 2025 held at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road on Sunday morning. The event saw women of all ages and mothers with their babies in tow taking part in it.

Taneira CEO Ambuj Narayan and JJ Active coach Pramod flagged off the event. The event was jointly organized by Taneira, a brand under Tata Group, and JJ Active, a Bengaluru-based fitness company.

Women participated in the run wearing traditional handwoven sarees and in sneakers. The event encouraged women to embrace fitness and celebrate womanhood.

Beyond clothing, it represents strength, individuality, and an expression of identity, remaining deeply relevant in today’s world, a press release said.

The organizers stated that such events are conducted to promote awareness about the cultural significance of sarees among the younger generation. They thanked the participants as their response was even more overwhelming than the previous edition. They also mentioned that the Saree Run had already been successfully held in cities like Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Chennai.

Highlighting that the Taneira Saree Run celebrates the strength and spirit of women, Ambuj Narayan said the cultural attire is a symbol of grace and resilience, and continues to empower women as they embrace both their heritage and individuality.
