TGTET 2024-II: Candidates Protest Far-Off Exam Centres Allocate

Hyderabad: Scores of teacher job aspirants are not happy with the School Education Department, Telangana, as they have been allotted exam centres hundreds of kilometres away from their residence in spite of opting for a centre close to it.

A 24-year-old woman candidate, who downloaded her hall ticket from the official website at tgtet2024.aptonline.in, was shocked to see the location of her TG TET 2024 examination centre. She said the exam centre is 210 km away from her place and she will have to travel for four hours on the exam day.

Numerous candidates have voiced their frustration. A female candidate from Rajanna Sricilla district shared her experience. โ€œ I chose an examination centre closer to my place, but they have assigned a test centre at JB Institute of Engineering & Technology in Moinabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy district which is over 200 km from my residence.โ€

Recently, the hall tickets for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TG-TET-2024-II) were released online and candidates were requested to download it from their official website. The exams are scheduled to begin from January 2, 2025 to January 20, 2025.

According to the schedule, there will be two sessions on each day, and the timings of the examination on each day shall be 9 am to 11.30 am for Session 1 and 2 pm to 4.30 pm for Session 2.

The anxiety among affected female candidates is palpable as the morning session begins at 9 am and they need to reach the exam centre in time. Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centre from 7.30 am for morning session and 12.30 pm in the afternoon as they are required to give their biometric details to the security personnel.

Over 2.75 lakh candidates including 94,335 for paper โ€“ I and 1,81,438 for paper โ€“ II are expected to appear for the examinations.
